DISTRAP Creative camp – one

As part of the DISTRAP project activities, a Creative camp was organized in Pécs for key stakeholders in regenerative tourism from Hungary and Croatia by BVO, Pécs Zoo and Association for Creative Development Slap. Objective of the Camp was to jointly develop three new cross-border tourism packages that include visits to both zoos as well as other local attractions. This initiative will aim to encourage visitors to extend their stay in our region.
The first Creative tourism camp was organised in July 1–3, 2026 in Pécs, Hungary, while the second will take place in Osijek, Croatia in mid September 2026. The conclusion of the Camp was that the both sides have a good amount of touristic offer, but we need to strenghten the network of tourism service providers and raise awerness on benefits of regenerative tourism.
The DISTRAP project (HUHR/2401/4.6/008), implemented under the Interreg V-A Hungary–Croatia program, aims to develop innovative, sustainable, and inclusive cross-border tourism, focusing on the modernization and integration of the zoos in Osijek and Pécs as key regional attractions. The project partnership intends to contribute to sustainable tourism development by generating economic and social benefits within the cross-border region.
