Project Aims and Objectives

The primary goal of REACH-Hub is to identify and dismantle administrative, economic, and social barriers that hinder cooperation in the Hungarian-Croatian cross-border region.

The project focuses on several key objectives:

  • Identifying Barriers: The project investigates obstacles not just at the national level, but also those existing between county (NUTS-3) borders, which are often overlooked.
  • Integrated Territorial Development (ITD): It promotes a methodology that links urban and rural areas using concepts like smart cities and smart villages.
  • Bottom-Up Governance: The project utilizes the Community-Led Local Development (CLLD) methodology to empower local action groups and stakeholders in rural development.
  • Innovative Solutions: REACH-Hub aims to provide innovative governance models (such as Living Labs and Shared Wealth models) and a space for local actors to co-create joint solutions.
  • Regional Focus: The activities specifically target five NUTS-3 regions: Somogy and Baranya in Hungary, and Osječko-baranjska, Vukovarsko-srijemska, and Požeško-slavonska in Croatia.
